buying a Dell computer is so confusing

Tried for ages to buy a Dell computer but had to stop every time as it is so confusing and no one to ask or call - Lots of pictures of computers but so confusing to choose and to know what is need in terms of software etc.

I have now sort of given up on Dell and will go and look in the shops for something with some tech help perhaps from assistants.
