Cheap computer parts aren't necessarily bad
by CompGuy
Talking about building one's own cheap PC. I have built two of them.
I have had great experience with both, they have worked brilliantly. The above suggestions are good for building a real cheap basic PC, but if you are willing to spend a little more money but surely not as much as the cheapest branded one around, then you will end up with a brilliant inexpensive and a very powerful computer.
For example, instead of buying sound and video hardware separately, better pickup a motherboard with integrated sound and video, that is going to save you a lot of money and deliver better performance as well.
Also by building your own PC you will be aware of different warranty periods for different products. Hence you will have longer warranty periods for certain spares.
