Building Customized Computers with High Quality Parts

Are you building customized computers for multimedia applications or gaming? Here is a follow up to an article we posted recently on how to “Build Your Own Computer From Scratch.” Since we already gave you the instruction manual, we thought we would highlight some of the parts we liked the best when we purchased them.

EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 ATX Intel Motherboard For the Motherboard, we like the EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 ATX Intel Motherboard. This motherboard is not cheap; it is around $260 and works with Quad Core, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo and Pentium CPUs. It plugs into a LGA 775 socket. It has eight audio channels and has a maximum LAN speed of Dual 10/100/1000 Mbps. It supports four 2.0 USB ports and comes with (among other things) a Driver Disk, a User Manual, an Fdd Cable, a 6 x SATA Cable, USB Bracket housing and a fan.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz LGA 775 65W Processor The CPU we like the best is the Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz LGA 775 65W Processor. This CPU sells for around $140 and is very easy to install. It comes with a pictoral guide to installation and has gotten very good user reviews. The memory is fast and it works well for gamers who have limited funds but want a better processor than the one they already have. It also has a heatsink and fan, which help with entire computer’s performance.

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Your RAM is very important. As of press time, the OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory has great customer satisfaction. This RAM sells for under $100 and offers some of the highest speed available. It was clocked at a stock rate of 400MHz and comes with a heatspreader design to keep your computer from over heating. This RAM is especially good for people who take part in gaming or enjoy watching or making multimedia presentations.

XFX GeForce 8800GTS (G92) PVT88GYDF4 Video Card For your video card, you will want to buy the XFX GeForce 8800GTS (G92) PVT88GYDF4 Video Card is one of the best video cards for gamers or multimedia enthusiasts. It has a built in exhaust fan to make sure that it doesn’t overheat and doesn’t melt down the rest of your computer and it is very easy to install. This card sells for almost three hundred dollars, but is well worth the expense. It is something you will not have to replace for a long time.

There are many parts that go into the building of your own computer, but these few parts will give you an idea of the quality you are looking for. While customizing computers does not have to be an expensive process, it often pays to buy the higher end product because replacing the original parts on customized computers can be expensive in the long run.
