Install Power Supply
& Auxiliary Case Fans

You've opened the case, now you are ready to install power supply and auxiliary case fan.

There will be a very large slot on the upper back portion of the case. This is the slot the power supply will go into.

1. Start off by aligning your power supply into the slot so that the four mounting holes are properly aligned with the power supply’s screw holes. If the power supply has a fan inside it, the fan should be facing towards the outside of the case.

2. Place screws through the holes and tighten them into place. Make sure the power supply is firmly mounted to the case. A power supply is easily susceptible to damage if it has not been properly mounted and is loose.

Install an Auxiliary Case Fan

In addition to the power supply fan and the CPU fan, an auxiliary case fan over the vent underneath the power supply will help keep the temperature inside the case at a level that will not damage the CPU.

You do not necessarily need an auxiliary fan, but it is highly recommended. You do not want your computer catching fire from overheating.

1. Position the fan in place over the vent by the power supply.
2. Secure it with four screws.

The next step is installing the drives, these include the hard drive, and any extra drives you want including a CDrom, DVDrom, or floppy drive. I recommend you start with the when and how to install drives introduction.
