well it is a long story , i loaned my wife my desk top for some work she was doing and her lap top was to old and slow as it turned out so was the desk top we did not know much about them and a small computer repair shop talked her into trading for one of their rebuilt desktops instead of adding memory which was the original idea, it was a junk computer put together with obsolete used parts and it froze up constantly they had every excuse in the book finally
they agreed to put a new motherboard in it ,which we paid for, still froze up constantly they would not give us our money back, so i started doing some research it had xp 64 bit os and the mobo did not support that, and the board had heat issues (asus a8v-vm se) an old 939 form factor , i don't see how they stay operating, so i found new egg and expert village online and built my own system, the customer reviews really do help you decide on the components to use, and there are plenty of how to videos on-line
specs - full tower with large side fans, asus m2n- sli deluxe mobo, amd 6000x2+3000ghz cpu with aftermarket cooler, 500 watt power supply, 2-asus 8600gt-512memory gpu's in sli asus dvd burner, 8 gb gskill gameing memory, excelstor jupiter 160 gb hard drive (used from junk computer mentioned above) and vista home premium 64bit has a user rating of 5.5 overall- hd got 5.6 cpu got 5.5 everything else is 5.9 it booted right up and i have been running it for 8 months with no problems system temps- mobo runs at 30 - cpu 32 at idle i do a little overclocking but i like using the ai booster on auto and set the memory voltage manually the amd 6000 dosen't overclock well i have read and it is true
