Watch out for computer cable connection lengths

by Brian
(Winston Salem, NC)

I built computer almost from scratch. I used a processor from an old computer and used the same case. Everything else was purchased separately for around $300.

The build went smoothly except for the power supply connections. Two of the connections would not reach to the disk drive and the DVD-R. I had to return the power supply and it took a week before I found another one that would reach.

The moral of the story? Don't just plan for the computer parts, plan for the computer cables too.
